Features

    Everything GroomRules does.

Each feature below says which plan it comes on and shows the real screen where there is one. The last section lists what isn't built yet.

A booking link that asks about the dog first

One link for WhatsApp, your Instagram bio and your website. A client picks a service, tells you the dog's name, breed, coat, size and last groom, and is only offered slots long enough for that dog, at the price your rules set. Nothing to install and no account for them.

    • Returning clients are recognised by email and skip the questions they've answered before
    • Several dogs from one household in one booking
    • Approval-first mode holds new or flagged dogs until you confirm
    • Terms accepted on the page and logged with the booking
The GroomRules booking page asking about the dog: name, breed (Cockapoo, typical small size and curly coat) and sex

Breed and coat rules you can change

Every breed starts with a default time, price and recall interval. Coat condition, size and temperament add to them. Change any number for a breed, or for one dog, and GroomRules applies your rules to every booking before it reaches you.

    • Block the breeds you don't take
    • Matting, nerves and extra-large coats add time and money on their own
    • Load the standard rules in one click, then edit

    Breed defaults

    yours to edit

    • Cockapooevery 4 weeks
    • Cocker Spanielevery 6 weeks
    • Labrador Retrieverevery 8 weeks
    • Newfoundlandevery 6 weeks

Coat condition, size and temperament add time and money on top.

Recalls that bring every dog back when it's due

When a dog is nearly due, GroomRules texts and emails the owner a link to book, and follows up if they don't. The interval comes from the breed and you can change it per dog. Email recalls are on every plan; texts need Starter or Professional.

    • Starts up to four weeks before the dog is due
    • Follow-ups until the dog is booked
    • Every recall sent is logged against the dog

    Your day on one screen

Done, now, next and later, with the surcharge, the notes and the owner's name on each card. Mark a dog as arrived, in progress or finished from your phone. A calendar view and a bookings list sit behind it.

    • Notes and warnings show on the card, not three taps away
    • Bather and stylist tracks for salons that split the work

Client and dog records that build themselves

Every booking adds to the dog's record: breed, coat notes, temperament, vet, last groom, what was done and what it cost. Upload a spreadsheet of clients to start, or let them add themselves as they book. Free covers 100 clients; Starter and Professional are unlimited.

    What GroomRules doesn't do today

    • Deposits and card on file. Being built on Stripe; not live.
    • A marketplace or a client app. There are no plans for a marketplace.
    • Google Calendar sync. GroomRules reads your calendar's busy times; it does not write bookings back yet.
    • Route planning for mobile groomers. You get working hours and a buffer between appointments, not a map.
    • Card readers or in-salon payments. Clients pay you the way they do now.

If one of these is the thing you need, say so at owen@groomrules.com. It changes what gets built next.

A note from Owen, who builds GroomRules

GroomRules exists because the booking tools groomers were using didn't know what a dog was. Every booking was a one-hour slot, whatever walked through the door. It's built in the UK and priced so one groom a month covers it. If something in it doesn't work the way your salon does, email me. I read every message and reply myself, usually within one working day.
