For mobile dog groomers
Take the booking without stopping the van.
Send the link, and the owner answers about the dog while you finish the one on the table. The right slot lands in your diary with a buffer for the drive. Recalls fill the quiet weeks. Your income lines up by tax quarter. There is no route planner yet, and we say so below.

What a van needs
Six things a mobile groomer's diary has to do.
Know the dog before you drive to it
The booking page asks the breed, coat, size and last groom before it offers a slot. A matted doodle books a longer, dearer slot. You find out in the diary, not on the doorstep.
Leave room for the drive
Set a buffer between appointments and the days and hours you work. Clients only see slots that fit the dog and leave you the gap to get there.
Say yes before it's confirmed
Approval-first mode holds new or flagged dogs until you confirm, so you can check the postcode, the parking or the dog before the slot is theirs.
Fill the quiet weeks
When a dog is due, GroomRules texts and emails the owner a link and follows up. On a round of a hundred dogs, that is the difference between a quiet fortnight and a full one.
Cut the wasted drive
Reminders go out 5 days and 24 hours before each appointment, by text and email. A no-show costs a mobile groomer the groom and the diesel.
Keep the records in your pocket
Breed, coat notes, temperament, vet, what you did last time and what it cost, on the dog's card, on your phone, between jobs. Your income is grouped by tax quarter for your accountant.

What it doesn't do for a van
- No route planning or map. GroomSlot has one, at £24 a month, and if that is your biggest problem it is the better choice today.
- No address field on the booking page yet. Approval-first mode is the workaround.
- No deposits or card on file yet. Clients pay you the way they do now.
- No offline mode. It needs a signal.
Compare the two properly on GroomRules vs GroomSlot.
Questions from the van
A note from Owen, who builds GroomRules
GroomRules exists because the booking tools groomers were using didn't know what a dog was. Every booking was a one-hour slot, whatever walked through the door. It's built in the UK and priced so one groom a month covers it. If something in it doesn't work the way your salon does, email me. I read every message and reply myself, usually within one working day.
